Richard A. Conn, Jr.
Managing Partner

Prior to founding Eurasia Advisors in 2003, Richard practiced international corporate law for nearly twenty years as an equity partner with the international law firm Latham & Watkins. He founded the firm's Moscow office in 1992 and served as President of the Moscow based Foreign Bar Association. A longstanding member of the Board of Directors of the U.S.-Russia Business Council, he regularly consults with the World Bank, Members of Congress, and the Administration regarding C.I.S. related issues. He Co-Chaired the U.S.-Russia Business Council and American Chamber of Commerce (Moscow) joint initiative to facilitate Russian accession to WTO.

Richard lectures at the Columbia University's Harriman Institute of Russian, Eurasian, and East European Studies regarding Russia as well as at the Institute for New Economic Thinking, the Centre for International Governance Innovation, and Columbia University's SIPA Center on Global Economic Governance. He delivered the key note address to the United Nations to open the U.N. conference addressing the establishment of a world-wide Sovereign Debt Restructuring framework. He frequently publishes on these subjects. He recently published the article "Towards a Sovereign Debt Restructuring Framework: Less is More ", which is included in the forthcoming book "Too Little, Too Late: The Quest of Resolving Sovereign Debt Crises", Columbia University Press, New York, 2016.

Richard ran in 2010 for the Deputy Presidency of the World Chess Federation on an international ticket headed by the Twelfth World Champion Anatoly Karpov with the support of the Thirteenth World Champion Garry Kasparov and is an avid chess player. He сhairs the Advisory Committee of a non-profit organization that has already taught chess to 1 million public school second and third graders in the U.S.

Richard also serves as Managing Partner of Innovate Partners (<http://www.innovatepartners.com>), an emerging company private investment fund and as an Independent Trustee of a publicly traded mutual fund. Eurasia Advisors was originally founded under the name of Conn International Group LLC.

A graduate of Dartmouth College and Fordham University Law School (publishing his law review article on international law "The Alien Tort Statute: International Law as the Rule of Decision"), Richard clerked for the Honorable Gordon Thompson, Jr., Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court, Southern District of California addressing a variety of international law issues and subsequently co-authored Collier Labor Law and the Bankruptcy Code. He is fluent in Russian and Spanish.

Vitaly Lazorin
Advisor
Founding CEO, Center for promotion of innovative technologies "Novstream - Constructive Solutions", Moscow. Novstream provides technology commercialization and business facilitation services to inventors and entrepreneurs pursuing innovative projects including participation in early and later stage financing rounds. Novstream is a full member of the European Ventured Capital Association.

Mr. Lazorin serves as a member of the Audit Council under the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, and as an expert to the Russian Center for Technology and Innovation of PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Mr. Lazorin started his professional career in PricewaterhouseCoopers, and then worked in the finance and investment industry with the EBRD, Russia Partners and the Carlyle Group.

Mr. Lazorin is a Chartered Certified Accountant with a degree in Foreign Economic Relations from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.


Peter Clateman
Advisor
Peter Clateman has worked at leading investment institutions active in Russia and the CIS for over 14 years and has been based in Moscow since 2001.  Peter has served as General Counsel of Renaissance Capital, Russia's leading independent investment bank; VR Capital, an award winning hedge fund with over US $2 billion AUM focused on distressed assets and special opportunities in emerging markets; and the Sputnik Group, which was the largest private equity fund focused on the Russia and the CIS at the time it was launched.

Peter also served as the General Counsel
and Management Board member of UC Rusal during its merger with SUAL and the aluminum assets of Glencore to form the world's largest aluminum producer.   He has extensive experience in the investment process in emerging markets, from vetting opportunities through exit, including hands-on management of corporate governance transformation and significant investment disputes. 

Prior to 2001, Peter was an associate in the London and Moscow offices of Skadden Arps Slate Meagher and Flom, a leading US law firm.  He received his law degree from Columbia University and his BA from Harvard College.


Robert G. Allison
Advisor
Mr. Allison is the founder and CEO of Innovate Partners Inc., a private investment company focused on development stage companies. Through Innovate, Mr. Allison currently serves as a CEO of Ultimate Ears, CEO of Ocean Minded and Chairman of Innovate Technologies.

Mr. Allison also has served as a General Partner for the Edgewater Funds where he managed the technology investment sector and was the founder and CEO of Interworks Computer Products and Chairman of Jabra Corporation. Prior to Innovate, Mr. Allison was COO of Aurora Electronics, Vice President of Arrow Electronics (NYSE: ARW) and founder and CEO of Insight Electronics.


Julianna A. Peresvetova
Senior Consultant
Ms. Peresvetova has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the Franklin Pierce College, MA degree in International Relations/International Law of Trade and Investment from the The American University, and a post-MA degree from The Johns Hopkins in Information Systems/Information Technology. She is fluent in English and Russian.
